A Snapshot of your day
As Project Director, you will report to the Head of Operations. Your main role will involve managing large, complex projects including HV equipment, substations, offshore platforms, and ancillary systems from design through commissioning. You should have experience with large 'A' category projects, preferably in transmission or offshore industries, and a proven track record of successful project delivery. As a senior representative, you'll handle customer expectations and strive for project success and customer satisfaction. You will also develop strategies to strengthen customer loyalty and market position.

How you'll make an impact
Siemens Energy is seeking a Project Director to oversee offshore grid connection projects for wind farms in the UK and internationally. Your responsibilities include:
* Delivering projects within scope, budget, time, safety, and quality standards
* Ensuring business success and customer satisfaction
* Managing internal and external partnerships
* Making timely decisions and advising senior management
* Executing contracts professionally
Your responsibilities
* Using risk management tools to identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle
* Developing and implementing strategies for risk mitigation
* Managing issues and problems with partners
* Identifying opportunities for improvement
Contract, Change, and Claim Management:
* Influencing contract formulation
* Managing change requests and claims strategy
* Involving project teams in change and claim identification
* Assessing contracts for claim relevance with legal input
* Early deviation reporting and claim management
* Protecting the organization from contractual liabilities
Project Planning, Control, and Closure:
* Maintaining project management plans
* Monitoring project status and discrepancies
* Ensuring quality standards are met
* Conducting acceptance tests and project handover
Leadership & Communication:
* Ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders
* Setting targets and responsibilities for team members
* Fostering team collaboration and feedback
Business Integrity:
* Enforcing Siemens Business Conduct Guidelines
* Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards
The role requires strong leadership skills, knowledge of project economics, and proficiency with project management tools. The position is primarily based in Manchester with extensive travel involved.
