Inform (Information Network Focus on Religious Movements) is a small independent charity that is based within the department of Theology and Religious Studies at King’s College London. We exist to reduce harm caused by misinformation about new and minority religious movements and spiritualities. Inform was established by Professor Eileen Barker in 1988 with a start-up grant from the UK Home Office at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Role Description
This is a part-time (2 days per week), on-site role for a Cataloger/Archivist, located in central London. It is a fixed-term post for 20 months from January 2026.
Reporting to the Director and Senior Research Officer of Inform, the post holder will be responsible for the cataloguing of the Inform Archive. They will lead on the cataloguing and repackaging of the archive in accordance with professional standards and King’s College London Archives’ own policies and procedures to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of the collection. The role will also involve the digitisation of materials to increase access alongside assessing the long-term conservation and preservation needs of the collection.

Person Specifications
* Postgraduate degree or recognised professional qualification in Archives and Records Management or substantial equivalent paid experience
* Substantial experience of cataloguing archive collections to ISAD (G) in a professional post.
* Experience of using archive collections management systems for cataloguing
* Experience of undertaking archive preservation work including repackaging materials and undertaking conservation audits
* Familiarity with legislation governing the management and use of archives, including copyright and data protection
* Experience of digitisation workflows and of digitising archival material
* Knowledge of inclusive and ethical archive practice
* Interest in working with the Inform team to identify appropriate archival material for social media
* Interest in the social scientific and historical approaches to the study of religion and / or other controversial subjects.
Skills and Abilities
* Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently, on own initiative as well as part of a team
* Proven ability to deliver on specific projects to deadline
* Advanced planning, organisational and prioritising skills.
* Excellent IT skills, including using archive collections management systems and reprographics
* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
