An excellent opportunity has arisen within the London Borough of Redbridge for an Adults Litigation Lawyer to join the Council to provide a comprehensive and professional legal service. You will report to the Principal Lawyer – Social Care within the Legal Department. You will also work closely with other Council departmental clients and specialist departments. As an in-house social care lawyer, you will have the opportunity to deal with an interesting workload and advise senior clients. Responsibilities - Conduct of a full caseload of adults and community care/Care Act 2014 matters including Court of Protection and Menal Health Act. Giving advice on DOLS application. Defending judicial review challenges including adults, age assessment and s.17/20 Children Act challenges and leaving care. To be successful in this role you will need to: Hold a Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX or similar qualification. Have extensive knowledge and experience of adult social care legislation and practice. Good knowledge of local government and public sector law affecting social care and health. Experience of working in a busy local authority setting.
