As a Systems Accountant, you are expected to provide ongoing upgrades, systems maintenance and process improvement work.�

This role will work closely with Finance, IT and other business functions to develop robust financial processes with a particular emphasis on developing, implementing and overseeing a transition to self-service reporting and dashboards.
Finance, Planning and Performance Directorate Overview
As a directorate, FPP are responsible for the planning, reporting and financial wellbeing of CCS. This includes:
1. budgets and financial reporting
2. strategy and business planning
3. supplier and project assurance
4. performance reporting
5. risk management
The Finance team develop and manage all financial reporting. We work closely with different departments to develop budgets, projections and business plans related to money and finances.
The Planning Performance and Risk team develops our business plan, tracks its implementation, measures business success and holds the business to account. The team is responsible for increasing the management capability of corporate risk through review and assurance.

This fantastic opportunity will enable you to be at the forefront of a small and innovative team looking to provide the top value from our internal ERP provided by Workday and Planning. Supporting the wider Finance team and the rest of the CCS business, maintaining and developing the systems, writing reports and dashboards.

The Finance team of c30 FTE covers three main areas: Operational Finance, Finance Business Partnering (FBP) and Commercial Finance. This role sits in the Operational Finance team but has to be able to work closely within the Finance team and the wider Finance Planning and Performance Directorate.
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
6. Providing expert advice regarding systems and technology to internal stakeholders
7. Heading financial systems� user support, including developing and designing systems� training materials and initiatives to upskill users
8. Taking charge for the overall processes underpinning the maintenance of user accounts and permissions, ensuring requests are correctly authorised and adhering to GDPR guidance as issued by Information Assurance specialists in Government Security
9. Leading the process of system improvement identification and the creation of solutions, representing finance systems across the organisation
10. Reviewing problem statements and design solutions. Working with stakeholders to implement solutions, including design and delivery of training packages, reports and dashboards
11. Overseeing all aspects of financial systems implementation and improvement, such as requirement setting with external suppliers
12. The post holder will be required to follow relevant government functional standards and other related requirements and guidance

Essential Criteria (To be assessed at application stage):
13. Strong technical finance and accounting skills
14. Experience of understanding, handling and assessing complex� financial processes
15. Experience of working effectively with multiple stakeholders with varying levels of financial knowledge
16. Demonstrates a clear comprehension of Project techniques and managing change
17. Experience of building reports and dashboards to meet business requirements
Desirable Criteria:
18. Experience of Workday and Adaptive Planning
