Job Description
This is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise, regulatory assurance, and leadership to support a wide range of developments—from routine projects to complex, high-profile schemes. You will play a key role in maintaining service excellence, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvement within our ISO 9001-accredited quality management framework.
Responsibilities
* The timely review and assessment of submitted plans for compliance with Building Regulations and relevant standards, including in-person inspections to ensure compliance.
* Assessing the need for and carrying out consultations (statutory and others) necessary for projects.
* Assessment of overall compliance with Building Regulations, including issuing appropriate documentation when necessary.
* Maintaining and developing personal competence (SKEB) in relevant subject areas to ensure relevant registration is achieved and maintained.
* Supporting part/unqualified team members to gain exposure and develop their SKEB for appropriate registration.
Qualifications
* Must be a Registered Building Inspector at Class 3G or 3H level (Class 2F considered).
* Must be a full member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., RICS, CABE, CIOB, CIBSE).
* Strong technical knowledge and ability to assess compliance from first principles.
Ideally, you'll have:
* Experience in project management of the building control function, including engagement on major projects.
* Experience in building control within multi-tenanted commercial buildings or reviewing fire engineered solutions.
