Weekend Hotel Services Assistant
Saturday and Sunday (15 hours per week).
The successful candidate will provide cleaning and catering services to our Service Users, Staff, and Visitors across various Wards and Departments. You will be part of an established team responsible for delivering comprehensive Hotel Services within the Hospital.
Main duties of the Job
* Cleaning all hospital areas, including bedrooms with en-suite facilities, bathrooms, lounges, corridors, offices, and other ward areas.
* Catering duties such as preparing and serving lunch and dinner, handling, reheating, and serving cook-freeze meals, making snacks, sandwiches, beverages, and cleaning the ward kitchen and dining areas.
* Handling waste disposal, periodic cleaning tasks like carpet shampooing and curtain changing.
Detailed job responsibilities
Housekeeping
1. Perform cleaning in all areas according to NHS standards, including compliance with National Standards of Cleanliness, CQC outcomes, and local schedules.
2. Complete cleaning records accurately.
3. Report any concerns regarding access or ongoing issues to the Nurse in Charge or Hotel Service Supervisor.
4. Follow Infection Control protocols to minimize infection spread.
5. Adhere to the National Colour Coding guidance.
6. Carry out termination and isolation cleans as per Trust policies.
7. Conduct scheduled deep cleaning and document it accordingly.
8. Manage waste collection and storage following hospital policies.
9. Perform additional cleaning duties such as cleaning wheelchairs, furniture, glass, and walls.
10. Report pest sightings to the Hotel Services Office.
11. Change curtains as needed under supervision.
12. Receive, store, and replace linen and laundry items.
13. Operate cleaning equipment safely, report defects, and assess equipment conditions.
Catering
1. Receive and check chilled meals and supplies for quantity and quality.
2. Store and rotate food items properly.
3. Reheat and serve meals under supervision, ensuring proper portioning and presentation.
4. Monitor and record food temperatures as required.
5. Wash crockery, cutlery, and utensils using machines.
General
1. Monitor stock levels, ensure security, and reorder supplies as needed.
2. Report maintenance issues promptly.
3. Flush water outlets as scheduled and maintain records.
4. Assist with fitting anti-ligature dispensers.
5. Maintain personal hygiene standards.
6. Keep all patient and staff information confidential.
7. Perform other duties related to hotel services as reasonably requested.
