Protocol Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a thriving SEND school in Epping, looking for a passionate and imaginative individual with a creative or arts-based background to join their dedicated team.
This innovative school follows a holistic approach to learning, embedding sensory and therapeutic strategies into the daily routine to create a calm, purposeful, and individualised learning environment. The children you will be supporting have a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), SEMH, behavioural difficulties, and other specific learning differences. All pupils have an EHCP, and staff are fully supported with the information and training needed to ensure consistency, safety, and progress.
About the Role
As a Creative/Artistic Youth Worker, you will work both 1:1 and within the classroom, providing support tailored to each pupil’s individual learning and emotional needs. Whether your background is in Art, Drama, Sensory Therapy, or other creative disciplines, you will use your unique skills to promote engagement, build confidence, and contribute to a positive learning experience.
You’ll need to be adaptable, proactive, and positive, using your creativity to help students navigate challenges, express themselves, and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.
Ideal Candidate:
Protocol Education is looking for someone who:
✔ Has a background or degree in Arts, Drama, Therapy, or Sensory-Based Practice
✔ Has experience or a passion for supporting children with SEND or SEMH needs
✔ Believes every pupil, regardless of background or need, can achieve outstanding progress
✔ Is creative, compassionate, resilient, and an excellent communicator
✔ Can build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and external professionals
✔ Uses a variety of strategies to support learning, behaviour and emotional regulation
