The Role
As part of an experienced grounds team, you will:
Maintain ornamental gardens, beds, borders, lawns and landscaped areas to an exceptional standard
Carry out planting, pruning, mulching, staking, watering and weed control
Propagate plants from seed, cuttings and plugs
Support seasonal planting schemes and displays
Monitor plant health and identify pests and diseases
Undertake lawn maintenance including mowing, aeration, scarifying and overseeding
Safely operate and maintain horticultural equipment and machinery
Contribute to sustainability and biodiversity projects
Assist with preparing the grounds for visitors and events
Maintain a safe, tidy and professional working environment
About You
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys horticulture and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
You'll ideally have:
At least 3 years' professional gardening or horticultural experience
Strong knowledge of ornamental plants, pruning, propagation and lawn care
Experience maintaining gardens and grounds to a high standard
A full UK driving licence
Excellent attention to detail
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A reliable, positive and professional approach
Desirable
RHS qualification, horticultural apprenticeship or equivalent
PA1 and PA6 certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience within a heritage estate, private estate, public garden or similar environment
