An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role requires overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Have strong financial understanding,
* Possess problem-solving skills,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills, as the role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and assisting in renewal negotiations,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on debt status, debtor days, collections, and other reports,
* Manage cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Handle credit applications and related documentation,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Manage litigation and claims with insolvency practitioners,
* Set and manage credit policies to meet company goals,
* Conduct risk assessments for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders,
* Review sales Terms and Conditions prior to approval,
* Visit customers and company sites as needed.
