Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site People Advisor role based in Manchester. The People Advisor will provide first-line HR guidance and support to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and people-related matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising on employee relations issues, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and ensuring consistent application of employment legislation and internal policies. The role will also involve assisting with performance management, absence management, and disciplinary and grievance processes, as well as maintaining accurate HR records and systems. The People Advisor will collaborate closely with operational leaders to promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture and support staff development across the organization.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in HR advisory or generalist roles, including employee relations, recruitment support, and HR administration.
* Solid understanding of UK employment law, HR policies, and best practices, with the ability to provide clear, practical guidance to managers and employees.
* Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and support colleagues at all levels.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, maintain accurate records, and work to deadlines.
* Proficiency with HR information systems and standard office software, with attention to data accuracy and confidentiality.
* CIPD qualification (or working towards it), or equivalent HR training and experience, is highly desirable.
* Experience working within multi-site or public service environments, especially in social enterprise, leisure, health, or education sectors, is an advantage.
