The Role
As a Bid Manager, you’ll report to a Senior Bid Manager and ultimately to the Head of Bid Management. You’ll take the lead on high-quality bid submissions, ensuring we deliver compelling, customer-focused proposals that win business.
We’re looking for an organised and driven Bid Manager to join our Central Business Development Team. Reporting directly to the Senior Bid Manager, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and leading the production of high-quality, tailored tender submissions with a particular focus on Planned Works.
Collaborating across operational and technical teams, you’ll ensure our bids showcase our expertise in delivering large-scale refurbishment, capital investment, and improvement programmes—helping us secure contracts that make a lasting impact on communities and the built environment.
Responsibilities include:
1. Leading and owning the creation of winning tender submissions
2. Proactive management and leadership of each tender process
3. Ensure structure of the document reflects all requirements in a way that facilitates easy scoring
4. Produce well written proposals from researched and orchestrated responses which convey operational, technical and commercial solutions in a clear and concise manner
5. Design, collation, production and review of the final submission document, including the ownership and writing of all elements / sections
6. Working as part of the wider bid team to support and produce high quality, customer focused documents
7. Updating and integration of knowledge management within Document Management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
8. Managing multiple deadlines, whilst maintaining the highest levels of quality in written work
Role Criteria:
9. Proven experience in writing high quality method statements
10. Experience of liaising with teams (particularly operators) in order to develop deliverable solutions
11. Competency in MS Office software
12. The ability to work to tight deadlines
13. Ability to maintain a flexible attitude to work task and workload to ensure tender deadlines are achieved
14. Calm under pressure and constant feedback / evaluation
15. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
16. Ability to work on own initiative
