Nursery: Bright Horizons Teddies Woking Day Nursery and Preschool
Salary: £30,827 - £40,755 (dependant on qualification/s and experience)
Contract: 12 months Fixed Term Contract
Location: Woking, Surrey
We are looking for a full time, Level 3 qualified Deputy Manager to join our Bright Horizons Teddies Woking on a fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave. Our nursery is located within a 5 minute walk from the town centre which provides excellent transport links using both trains and buses.
In the local area we have the town centre with lots of coffee shops and also a lovely park which is close enough to allow staff the opportunity to make the most of their breaks. We also have the local village of Horsell just a 5 minute drive away.
The nursery is located in a converted house giving this a warm and homely feel for the children and staff alike. We have a lovely large spacious garden allowing you to extend the learning and maximise the opportunity to use the space and nature area, for staff with a love of outside play.
We have a supportive and diverse team at the nursery where everyone is made to feel welcome and included, recognizing everyone as an individual.

What you’ll be doing
Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education to all children in our care
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery, holding overall responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery, and management of safeguarding and child protection policies
In collaboration with the Nursery Manager, contribute to succession planning, identification and delivery of relevant training, and supporting professional development plans, including coaching and mentoring for all colleagues
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents and/or carers, as well as other professionals, to meet the needs of each child
Promote the nursery to both current parents, and potential customers, to support retention and ongoing occupancy growth
Ensure commercial success of the nursery by maintaining expenditure inline FTEs and budget KPIs
Engage with the Local Authority to understand the local offer, to support practice in all areas of the nursery
What we’re looking for
Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
Experience within an Early Years leadership role (ideally as a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, Third in Charge or similar)
Experience of participating with a regulatory inspection, leading to a “Good” or “Outstanding” outcome
Confident decision maker, with previous experience providing support and leadership to others to enable staff in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities
Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents
Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
