The Global Tax CoE exists to enable the execution of EY’s “All In” strategy and accelerate the Tax “Paradigm Shift”. It incubates emerging solutions, manages complex deals and innovates through market‑leading talent.
The opportunity
Senior Manager – Statutory Reporting team: lead global engagements for clients with multi‑country statutory compliance requirements, develop client relationships, grow new business, deliver transformation to existing clients, and manage process improvement initiatives.
Your key responsibilities
* Lead pursuits and serve as the primary point of contact for Global Clients, designing, implementing and governing a globally consistent, centrally driven financial statement preparation process.
* Partner with go‑to‑market teams to create compelling pitches for new work and shape the commercial strategy.
* Act as the main relationship manager for a designated portfolio of clients, understanding their financial needs and objectives within EY’s global statutory compliance engagement.
* Coordinate statutory reporting compliance for Global Clients and oversee activities performed in the ETC and EY local offices.
* Lead and manage a team delivering statutory reporting services, including statutory financial statement preparation and GAAP bridging.
* Monitor and analyze financial performance of client portfolios with Client Global Process Owners, offering strategic insights and recommendations to optimize processes, enhance efficiencies and mitigate risks.
* Ensure strict adherence to accounting principles, regulatory requirements and EY’s internal policies while maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Collaborate closely with clients to understand challenges and proactively identify opportunities to improve financial operations, add value and contribute to their success.
* Act as a mentor, coach, and advisor to team members, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning and professional development.
Skills and attributes for success
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Strong project management skills.
* Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to distill complex concepts into clear messages.
* Track record of leading successful pursuits and supporting global RFP responses.
* Extensive accounting experience in finance operations or accounting roles within a professional services firm.
* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
* Strong leadership, communication and relationship‑building skills to manage client engagements and lead a team.
* Proficiency in financial statement preparation software and ERP system experience.
* Analytical acumen to interpret complex financial data, provide strategic insights and drive impactful solutions.
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, manage multiple client accounts and meet stringent deadlines.
* IFRS and/or US‑GAAP knowledge.
Ideally, you’ll also have
* Experience working on pursuits and responding to RFPs.
* Understanding and experience with various ERP reporting solutions.
* Experience with financial statement preparation tools (e.g., Caseware, Workiva, Thomson Reuters).
* Experience coaching and developing junior staff.
* Experience at an international level.
