Lecturer – Bricklaying
Location: Huntingdon
Salary: £28,385 – £41,782 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Temporary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Bricklaying to join a forward-thinking Construction and Motor Vehicle department on a temporary basis, covering long-term staff absence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of Bricklaying and multi-skills programmes, supporting learners of varying ages and abilities. The role involves full-time hours of 37 per week (Mon–Thurs 8.30–17.00, Fri 8.30–16.30), with the potential for occasional evening or weekend delivery.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Teaching Bricklaying and construction skills across all levels

* Preparing schemes of work, assessment plans, and engaging learning materials

* Tracking and reviewing learner progress, providing feedback and support

* Supporting student recruitment, admissions, and promotional events

* Contributing to curriculum development and new programme initiatives

* Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies

Candidate Requirements:

* A minimum Level 3 qualification in Construction or Bricklaying (essential)

* Substantial, recent industry experience in Bricklaying or Construction Maintenance

* Previous teaching, training, or lecturing experience (essential for this temporary post)

* Certificate in Education/PGCE/DET (desirable; training support available)

* Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to motivate learners

* Up-to-date health and safety knowledge relevant to the industry

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
