About the role

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to the Royal Navy Training Design Service. As the Senior Training Designer, you’ll support the Integrated Training Design Service to deliver learning that is blended, active and provides customer delight.


Responsibilities

* Accountable for all training courses assigned to you with regard to training transformation.
* Advocate for the creation of training content that is active, engaging, inclusive and learner‑centric.
* Ensure the processes that support the review and change of training courses follow the end‑to‑end training design process, are DSAT compliant, and consider media enhancements and quality standards.
* Proactively address, resolve and, if necessary, escalates any challenges that may affect delivery.
* Produce and develop high‑quality training design, e‑learning and courseware materials as required.
* Develop and design training courseware using a variety of media and technology.
* Contribute to the overall instructional strategy, analyse and implement changes to training programmes, and identify effective and ineffective instructional‑design methodologies.
* Seek feedback and impact stories to enhance training courses and continuously improve the work completed.
* Incorporate any changes derived from internal and external validation into all training design activity to keep the training up‑to‑date and satisfying operational requirements.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships with subject‑matter experts to positively contribute towards training transformation.
* Identify opportunities to provide accreditation for new and/or amended training as designed, and any implications for existing accreditations following design changes.
* Act as a technical lead to ensure processes follow the latest direction and guidance in accordance with defence policy.
* Support continuous professional development of yourself and coach allocated Training Designers to set them up for success.
* Follow security standards and system requirements to protect data and ensure smooth operations.
* Perform any other duties required to support the Integrated Training Design Service.


Qualifications

* Demonstrate previous experience from a Learning and Development role.
* Demonstrate a passion for learning, development and for developing others.
* Demonstrate excellent collaboration and communication and be adept at building strong relationships.
* Be an ambassador for learning, collaboration, and demonstrate best practices within the team.
* Demonstrate attention to detail, a passion for quality, and be able to plan and multitask.
* Enthusiastic to learn, collaborate and demonstrate best practices within the business and customers.
* Adopt a flexible approach to the role and adapt to evolving priorities.


Desirable Experience

* ADDIE model and Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
* Training and/or Instructional Design.
* Programme management tools and applications.
* Knowledge and practical experience of UK Ministry Defence procedures and policies.
* Contributing in a team environment for developing creative solutions to technical problems.
