Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a welcoming primary school in Kirkham. This is a full-time role starting in September, with the potential to continue long-term for the right candidate.
* Providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with SEMH needs
* Assisting in the classroom with tailored learning and behaviour strategies
* Helping the pupil engage positively with learning and develop key emotional regulation skills
* Building a trusting relationship and encouraging progress both academically and socially
* Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff
* Experience working with children with SEMH needs (in school or a similar setting)
* Calm, nurturing, and resilient personality
* Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a supportive and consistent way
* Passionate about supporting children's mental health and emotional wellbeing
* Team Teach or similar de-escalation training is desirable (training can be provided)
