Role
The Contracts Officer will join the Corporate Property Team within the Housing and Community Safety Directorate. The role involves managing projects and planned programmes up to a value of circa £2m.
Responsibilities
* Act as Contract Administrator ensuring contracts are delivered in line with specific terms and conditions.
* Work with the Clerk of Works to ensure all works are delivered to high quality standards.
* Develop specifications and tender documents to procure contracts.
* Manage allocated budgets to ensure contract values are not exceeded.
* Liaise with contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve contractual queries and issues.
* Monitor project progress, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring accurate record‑keeping.
* Prepare, issue, and manage contract documentation, notices, and instructions in accordance with JCT or other Contract publications.
* Carry out appropriate liaison with tenants, residents, stakeholders and members of the public dealing with any potential difficulties that may arise in conjunction with the Contractor undertaking the works.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in building construction and relevant legislation.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Comfortable with managing projects and budgets up to £2m.
