A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Corporate Landlord Services Team as a Building Services Engineer – Mechanical / Electrical. This full‑time, permanent role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact across the Directorate by ensuring our property portfolio remains compliant, efficient, safe, and fit for purpose.
You will play a key role in delivering an effective, economic, and high‑quality compliance and repair & maintenance service that protects the value of the Council’s assets. Working alongside a team of experienced Building Services Engineers, you will take responsibility for a compliance portfolio covering DMBC buildings and schools that buy into our traded service.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Delivering reactive and planned maintenance improvement schemes for building services and equipment, ensuring works are viable, cost‑effective, and completed to the highest standard.
* Monitoring and supporting the delivery of statutory testing, servicing, and periodic maintenance, ensuring programmes are achieved and compliance is evidenced through certification.
* Providing effective and economic repair and maintenance services across the portfolio.
* Offering design input and project management for service‑related schemes.
* Supporting the Council’s Repairs & Maintenance Procurement Partnerships and working collaboratively with contractors.
