As a member of the Protection Applications & Support team, you will provide technical support to the Grid Automation Sales and Business Development teams, collaborating with Product Management and R&D teams.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Provide technical support for assigned product platforms, covering pre-sales and post-sales activities. Develop expertise on products from Stafford, Bilbao, and Markham, including P40, P40A, P40AE, 650, 3 Series, MM, UR, 8 Series, and legacy products.
2. Design and optimize protection applications for complex schemes; develop Application Notes, articles, and guidance to support product sales and project delivery.
3. Resolve customer complaints related to products, prepare communication such as 8D and engineering reports, and perform site visits for troubleshooting and analysis.
4. Provide product and application training, develop training modules, and lead or contribute to customer events like seminars and pilot projects.
5. Collaborate with R&D to contribute to the product roadmap, including validation of new products and updates.
6. Maintain awareness of Grid Automation initiatives to ensure technical excellence and responsiveness to customer needs.
7. Provide technical leadership in power system protection, participate in industry committees, and influence technological evolution.
8. Work with PL teams on standards and technologies within the product roadmap, demonstrating proficiency in presenting solutions to customers.
9. Collaborate across departments and sites to ensure efficient workflows.
10. Willingness to travel globally up to 25% of the time.
Required Qualifications
* Advanced experience in Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Communications, equivalent to a BS degree.
* Deep knowledge of protection relay applications in transmission, distribution, and industrial sectors.
* Significant experience with numerical protection devices.
* Extensive experience in power system protection or an advanced degree with less experience.
* Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
