The Role
We are looking for a Post-Graduate Junior Design Manager to join our Design & Technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow in the construction design industry, working on high-end residential projects. As part of our supportive team, you will gain invaluable experience and mentorship from senior design professionals while contributing to the delivery of exceptional designs.
You will assist in the design process, supporting the team with coordination, quality assurance, and communication. Your role will involve learning from experienced colleagues and developing your skills in design management, building regulations, and construction methodologies. This position provides a clear path for career progression as you gain more experience and confidence in design leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Design Support: Assist the design team in developing and coordinating design concepts, documentation, and drawings under the guidance of the Senior Design Manager.
* Learning & Development: Actively seek learning opportunities to develop your understanding of design management, building regulations, and construction methodologies.
* Collaboration: Support the coordination between design teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth execution of the design phase of projects.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure design documentation is accurate and meets Griggs' quality standards, with a focus on learning attention to detail and best practices.
* Stakeholder Communication: Assist in the communication of design updates to clients and internal teams, ensuring clarity and transparency in all interactions.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who possesses:
* A post-graduate degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
* A foundational understanding of design principles, building regulations, and construction methodologies.
* A strong drive to develop expertise in design management, especially within high-end or bespoke construction projects.
* Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) or the eagerness to improve your software skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
* A proactive, enthusiastic approach to learning, combined with a genuine passion for the built environment.
