We are searching for a part-time Orthodontic/Dental Nurse to join our well established orthodontic practice based in Northwest London.
The successful candidate will join our team and will be given the opportunity to develop their skills whilst working in desirable and pleasant surroundings alongside an amazing team. Our practice prides itself on delivering exceptional orthodontic care of the highest standards under the direction of an experienced specialist orthodontist.
The position would suit a qualified dental nurse seeking to develop enhanced skills with training available in impression taking, retainer making, clinical photography and radiography. Regular attendance at annual orthodontic conferences is also expected.
JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Orthodontic Nurse

Reports to: PRACTICE MANAGER
Job Purpose: The primary objective of a nurse is to greet and serve patients, acting as chaperone, assisting clinicians and other members of the team in such a way that positively affects the patient's perception on their visit.
· People: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, clinicians and general public.
· Communicate effectively with practice team.
· Pursue development of skills and knowledge and attend training necessary for the performance of the role.
· Practice: · Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality and personal appearance, including full PPE as directed.
· Assist the clinician.
· Greet Patients on arrival to the practice in a courteous and professional manner and introduce necessary staff.
· Follow Cross Infection Control Policy and Procedures at all times.
· Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
· Ensure surgeries are well stocked/maintained at all times.
· Conduct patient oral hygiene instructions.
· Maintain detailed and accurate computerised patient records.
· Take radiographs under relevant supervision.
· Liaise with other staff members/referring dentists as necessary to perform duties and aid patient and business.
· Ensure appliances/scans/radiographs and up to date patient information is always available for clinicians .
· Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and yearly tasks have been completed.
· Assist in stock takes.
· Have a working knowledge of reception duties.
· Have in depth knowledge of complex procedures (e,g. bond, fixed, lingual).
· Obtained required nursing qualification.
· Qualified or prepared to qualify in taking Radiographs.
· Responsible for keeping up to date CPD
· Registration with relevant bodies.
· Any additional duties deemed necessary by line manager.
