Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 dependent on skills and experience

Permanent

Hybrid working (office based in Oswestry) – Currently 2 days in the office per week

Your role:

At Practice Plan, we’re looking for a Finance Manager who will play a key part in supporting our Head of Finance and driving the success of our finance function. You’ll be involved in producing monthly management information, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and five-year plans, giving you the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making.

Alongside this, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring smooth operations across purchase ledger, credit cards, banking, and VAT returns.

Leading a small team of two, you’ll combine hands-on financial management with leadership and development, all within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Taking ownership of monthly management information, including managing ledgers, analysing variances, and producing financial reports.
2. Leading the preparation of annual budgets, five-year plans, and quarterly forecasts, engaging with stakeholders across the business.
3. Supporting the Head of Finance and deputising when required.
4. Managing day-to-day finance operations, including the general ledger, purchase ledger, credit cards, banking, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
5. Producing spend analysis and cost centre reporting for stakeholders.
6. Overseeing quarterly VAT returns and other regulatory submissions.
7. Acting as the primary contact for financial queries and ensuring robust financial controls.
8. Leading and developing a small team, driving performance, engagement, and continuous improvement.

We’re looking for:

9. Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified)
10. Excellent communication and leadership skills
11. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
12. Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
13. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
14. High attention to detail and accuracy
15. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
16. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Word
17. Organised and adaptable approach to work
