Lifting Equipment Workshop / Inspection Engineer – Tipton
Pertemps West Bromwich are recruiting on behalf of our valued client for a Workshop/Inspection Engineer to join their specialist lifting equipment team based in Tipton.
This is a hands‑on, technical role where you’ll be inspecting, maintaining and repairing a wide range of lifting gear - including hoists, chain blocks and bespoke lifting equipment used across multiple industries.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Inspecting & testing lifting gear in line with LOLER regulations
* Identifying and recording equipment damage and completing service reports
* Working to high safety and housekeeping standards
* Supporting colleagues in the workshop and occasionally assisting with driving/deliveries
* Communicating clearly with your Line Manager and customers when needed
* Repairing, servicing and maintaining lifting equipment
This role suits someone mechanically minded, ambitious and eager to develop within a highly specialist industry.
What We’re Looking For
Our client is ideally seeking someone with:
* Experience maintaining or inspecting lifting equipment
* Knowledge of LOLER (or willingness to train towards LOLER Inspector level)
* Strong mechanical or engineering skills
* A full UK driving licence
* Good communication, organisation and attention to detail
* A positive, ambitious mindset and willingness to learn
* Ability to work well within a supportive workshop team
