Overview
Electrical Engineer for immediate employment for the London/ Kitchener, Ontario office.
Job Summary
You will support projects across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, including renewable energy (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. You will work under moderate supervision and contribute to a variety of engineering design and analysis tasks while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
* Perform electrical analyses, calculations, and routine tests in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
* Assist in preparing technical specifications, design drawings, memos, and reports.
* Identify discrepancies in results and propose solutions using sound engineering judgment.
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to fulfill project scope, budget, and timeline.
* Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate the electrical conditions and provide recommendations.
* Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EITs and technicians.
* Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering + four (4) years of relevant professional experience
* Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario in good standing. Experience in sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability (PV and EV systems).
* Experience in design tools: AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar.
* Solid knowledge of power systems: MV/LV distribution, lighting, controls, renewable energy systems.
* Proficiency with engineering calculations and preparing technical documentation.
* Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
* Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules.
* Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independently.
* Self-motivated, detail oriented and multi-tasking.
