Location: Midlands, UK Reporting to: Chairman Company: Investment Holding Company (IHC) About IHC IHC is the temporary name for a soon-to-be-established holding company overseeing a diverse portfolio of investments, including manufacturing companies involved in plastic injection moulding/extrusion, real estate, plus other B2B/B2C ventures. IHC’s mandate is to optimise portfolio value through strategic acquisitions, property management and investment to drive long-term shareholder value. Role Overview The Finance Director will lead and implement IHC’s financial strategy, focusing on acquisitions (mainly distressed assets), portfolio allocation and financial integration of new investments. Key priorities include financial governance, overseeing M&A activity, digitalising finance processes, monthly trend analysis and developing the finance team within the operating companies. The role is pivotal in driving value creation and supporting IHC’s growth. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement financial strategies, including M&A, divestitures and portfolio allocation Lead budgeting, forecasting and management reporting for informed board decisions Oversee financial due diligence, valuation and financial alignment of acquisitions, including distressed opportunities Manage and critique integrated financial models, scenario analysis and cash flow forecasts Oversee supply agreements and hedging strategies to optimise terms and mitigate risks Champion digital transformation in financial processes and reporting Deliver monthly trend analysis and ROCE reports at both company and group levels Manage, mentor and develop an existing finance team of four, fostering continuous improvement Act as primary finance contact for external tax advisers, lending banks and auditors Maintain compliance, robust internal controls and promote best practices in governance Publish annual statutory accounts Key Requirements Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent Significant experience as Finance Director within investment/holding company, family office, VC or PE environment Proven track record in M&A, portfolio management and distressed asset acquisition and containment Advanced financial modelling skills Experience with managing long-term supply agreements Ability to create full statutory annual accounts in-house for all wholly-owned investment companies Strong leadership, communication and digital transformation skills Expertise in ROCE reporting, cash management and team development Desirable Experience with property carve-outs, restructuring, multi-site operations and implementation of digital technologies in the financial arena Private equity, venture capital, family office or SME growth experience, including investment structuring Personal Attributes Commercially astute, proactive and adaptable Results-oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced settings Remuneration Highly competitive salary plus pension, health insurance, car allowance and annual bonus based on cash ROCE performance.
