Job summary
A highly motivated and enthusiastic individual is sought, who will be able to participate and assist with the care of children and young people from the age range of 2 to 16 years (under 2 years and 17-19 years old are also catered for depending on circumstances) on a busy in-patient paediatric ward. You will be expected to provide support to children and their families during their stay in hospital.
Ward F64 is a well-developed and organised team that offers a 24hr service, 365 days of the year. You will be required to work on a rota to meet the service needs and to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered.
You will work primarily day shifts, Long days or early and late, with the occasional night shift to meet the service needs.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to assist the medical and nursing team with any procedures that may need to be undertaken. You will be expected to carry out detailed observations of children, including recording their dietary input. Your duties would include being able to carry out housekeeping tasks and ensure that the basic day to day running of the ward is maintained.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as working upon their own initiative without constant supervision. To have excellent interpersonal skills. Computer skills are required.

Experience of working with children would be desirable but not essential.
