About HRN & the Role
HRN has recently been appointed the CASE Construction Equipment dealer for the whole of Scotland, creating an exciting opportunity within our growing Construction Division.
We are now recruiting a Service Technician (Construction Mechanic) to be based at our Insch depot, with responsibility for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of CASE heavy line machinery. This role is a mix of workshop- and field-based work, supporting our customers by ensuring their equipment operates safely, reliably, and at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, service, and repair CASE construction machinery
* Carry out on-site servicing and breakdown repairs as required
* Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and machine set-ups
* Accurately complete job cards, timesheets, risk assessments, and related documentation
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
* Support and mentor apprentices and colleagues within the service team
* Follow all health and safety procedures at all times
* Participate in ongoing training and development
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 1 year’s experience in a mechanical or service technician role (construction preferred)
* Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
* Experience using diagnostic software and technical manuals
* Computer literate and confident using diagnostic tools
* Full UK driving licence essential (forklift or HGV licence advantageous)
* Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach
* Flexible with working hours, including occasional overtime and weekends
* LTA / NVQ qualification (or equivalent) desirable
