Job Title: Pharmacist – Aseptic Services (Grade Band 7, 12-month Fixed Term / Secondment)

Contract: 12 months, fixed term; offered on a secondment basis after managerial approval.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (full and part‑time options available; flexible, compressed, or part‑time).
Salary: £49,387 - £56,515 per annum (pro rata, dependent on experience).
Key Responsibilities
* Support and maintain the Aseptic Services Section, delivering injectable chemotherapy in ready‑to‑use form.
* Provide specialist clinical pharmacy service for all cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
* Ensure compliance with Medicines Act Section 10 and national and regional QC standards for chemotherapeutic agents.
* Assist with quality control, internal and external inspections, and audit processes.
* Lead educational training of staff within aseptic services.
* Monitor chemotherapy regimens and clinically check prescriptions prior to production.
* Maintain aseptic preparation standards and support continuous improvement of the aseptic unit service.
Qualifications & Experience
* Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Experience in a hospital pharmacy, preferably at Band 7 or above, within cancer or aseptic services.
* Knowledge of chemotherapy prescribing systems, Good Clinical Practice and Good Clinical Trial Practice (GCP) guidelines.
* Experience in training other staff and working in multidisciplinary teams.
* Member of the British Pharmaceutical Collective (BOPA) is desirable.
* Awareness of financial aspects of chemotherapy funding.
