Plant & Weighbridge Operative
Average 45 hours per week
Location – Bury St Edmunds Transfer Station, IP31 1SJ
As a Plant & Weighbridge Operative at FCC Environment, you will assist in ensuring operations at the site are carried out in a safe working environment and cost-effective manner, in accordance with all Group policies, and in compliance with all statutory regulations and requirements.

What will you be doing?
•Supporting the safe and efficient operation of the site in line with health, safety and environmental legislation
•Operating mobile plant safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures
•Operating weighbridge systems and maintaining accurate Duty of Care and waste management records
•Ensuring compliance with Waste Management Licences, Working Plans, COSHH and risk assessments
•Providing a prompt, professional and courteous service to customers, hauliers and contractors
•Assisting customers where safe and practical to do so
•Maintaining plant and equipment and completing required records
•Reporting incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions or breaches of rules to site management
•Working in line with staff rosters and providing cover for planned and unplanned absence
•Undertaking other reasonable duties as requested, including working at other sites when required
What are we looking for?
•A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
•Experience operating mobile plant machinery (desirable, training can be provided)
•Experience using weighbridge systems (desirable)
•An honest, reliable and hardworking individual with good timekeeping
•Ability to work flexibly as part of a wider site team
•A positive, proactive approach with the ability to adapt to changing operational demands
•Excellent customer service skills
•Willingness to complete all required training and competency modules
