Overview
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has the perfect opportunity for you. Our Children\'s Services is focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people. We are creating an empowering environment where social work practice can thrive, where social workers are encouraged to be innovative and creative to ensure the services we offer to children and families help improve their lives. We have a highly experienced and dedicated permanent management team who are aspirational for the service, providing consistent management, direction and support. You will be working from our new state-of-the-art council office on the riverside in Stockton, with free parking, a riverside café, and large modern office spaces.
We are currently recruiting qualified Social Workers for our Disabled Children\'s Team. As a Social Worker in our Disabled Children\'s team, you will provide support to disabled children with complex and lifelong disabilities and their families, including those who are in our care. This involves carrying out assessments to devise and implement support packages, which can include short breaks arrangements. You will work closely with internal and external partners to meet the child\'s assessed needs, helping our children and young people to achieve their potential and supporting a smooth and positive transition to adulthood. We will provide a nurturing environment where your practice will flourish to contribute to positive outcomes for our children, young people and their families. You will work within small friendly teams, have a manageable caseload, and be provided with strong learning resources.
