3 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
* To provide practical and emotional support to children, young people, and their families to improve outcomes and promote positive change. The role focuses on early intervention, helping families to build resilience, access services, and develop the skills needed to thrive independently.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Work directly with families in their homes and community settings to assess needs and deliver tailored support plans.
* Support families in accessing education, health, housing, and social care services.
* Promote safeguarding and the welfare of children in line with statutory guidance and local procedures.
* Deliver parenting support, routines, and behavior management strategies.
* Liaise with schools, health professionals, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach.
* Maintain accurate and timely records, including assessments, plans, and reviews.
* Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings such as Team Around the Family (TAF) and Child in Need (CIN) meetings.
* Empower families to develop problem-solving skills and reduce dependency on services.
Essential Experience Required
* Experience working with children, young people, and families in a support or outreach role.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child development.
* Experience in multi-agency working and delivering family support plans.
* Ability to manage a caseload and work independently.
Essential Qualifications Required
* Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, Children and Young People, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Safeguarding training (Level 2 or above) is desirable.
