Job Overview
The Business Development Manager will lead new business sales activity across targeted sectors including education, leisure, public sector, hospitality and retail. Reporting into senior leadership, the role focuses on generating opportunities, converting prospects, and building a sustainable sales pipeline. Success will be measured through new client wins, qualified opportunities, account growth and commercial contribution.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and win new projects across education, leisure, holiday parks, retail and public sector markets
* Build and manage a target-account pipeline through outbound sales calls, email campaigns, networking and meetings
* Develop relationships with senior decision-makers, buyers and project stakeholders
* Manage long sales cycles, maintaining momentum from enquiry through to order conversion
* Prepare bespoke proposals, negotiate pricing and secure profitable business agreements
* Convert warm leads into qualified opportunities for design, estimating and delivery teams
* Attend client meetings, exhibitions, networking events and site visits across the UK
Person Specification
* Proven track record in Business Development Manager, Sales Manager or New Business Sales roles
* Strong hunter mentality with success in outbound sales and lead generation
* Experience selling into education, leisure, construction, facilities management, retail or public sector markets
* Able to manage consultative and longer-cycle sales processes
* Commercially astute with confidence negotiating pricing, margins and contracts
* Full UK driving licence preferred and live within commutable distance of Bristol.

* Uncapped bonus with a minimum of £10,000–£15,000 earnings and higher upside for strong performance towards £40,000 - £50,000.
