The Opportunity
We are working with a specialist SEN school in Brampton that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a highly rewarding role for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with diverse SEN needs.
* Assist teachers in adapting and delivering lessons to meet individual needs.
* Support pupils with personal care needs, where required.
* Encourage social, emotional, and behavioural development through positive strategies.
* Promote inclusion and independence within the classroom and wider school setting.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and families to support pupil progress.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential.
* Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, or SEMH is highly desirable.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to adapt and remain calm in challenging situations.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being.
