Location: Furzedown, Wandsworth, London
Salary: £27,000 – £29,500 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexible – includes evenings and Sundays)
Contract: 3-year fixed term (subject to a 6-month probation period)

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Youth & Community Worker to serve in the heart of Furzedown, a thriving and creative area in the London Borough of Wandsworth. This is a pioneering joint role between two local Christian organisations:
👉 Mitcham Lane Baptist Church – nurturing discipleship and spiritual growth
👉 Furzedown Youth Centre – delivering open-access youth work and community outreach
This exciting partnership offers a unique opportunity to connect with young people both inside and outside the church—supporting them on their faith journey, helping them navigate life’s challenges, and being a consistent, Christ-like presence in their lives.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has a heart for youth ministry and community outreach
* Is passionate about discipling young people and seeing lives transformed by the Gospel
* Can build strong, authentic relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds
* Is able to work creatively and collaboratively across church and community settings
* Is flexible, motivated, and committed to Christian service
Requirements:
* There is an occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010
* Right to work in the UK
* Subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check
