Joining our established and expanding Nuclear team as a Senior Civil Engineer, means engaging in a diverse and growing array of both international and UK-based projects. This role offers the chance to participate in multi-disciplinary projects at various stages of the lifecycle, from client consultancy to comprehensive turn-key solutions. Your responsibilities will extend to client interaction, crafting bids and proposals, and overseeing project delivery in line with AECOM's standards for quality, safety, and environmental care.
We are looking for individuals who can apply their skills independently and as part of a team to deliver projects to the benefit of our Clients. Inherently the projects are multi-disciplinary and may be at any stage in the project life cycle. Our projects range from client consultancy support to complete turn-key solutions. We are seeking a candidate with recent experience working within a regulated and quality-assured system, preferably in the nuclear industry.
This is an exciting time for the Nuclear Team with an interesting and expanding pipeline of both international and UK based projects.
Here’s what you’ll do:
1. Delivering Nuclear design work on projects for a range of public and private sector clients within the UK
2. Preparing detailed technical civil engineering designs.
3. Working with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high profile projects.
4. Assisting with the management of the projects delivery.
5. Assisting and mentoring team members to promote their technical and professional development.

Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for:
The successful engineer will have/be:
12. Qualified with a Bachelor Honours Degree and Chartered or near Chartered Engineer (MICE).
13. Expertise demonstrable in one or more specific specialist areas relevant to Civil Engineering.
14. Ability to be able to prepare design work for in a variety of Civil Engineering Design scope, with minimal supervision.
15. Good experience of Civil Engineering plant and equipment for application in Civil Engineering Design.
16. Knowledge of design guides, laws, regulations, processes and procedures appropriate to Civil Engineering.
17. Competent in the specification of Civil Engineering work and also the interpretation and application of results.
18. Engineering experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery, including positions influencing professional engineers and guiding technical personnel in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering work packages.
19. Knowledge of relevant design tools, techniques and related methods e.g. IT systems, IT Software.
20. Demonstrable mentorship and direction of Technicians, Graduates members of design team.
21. Understanding of design principles and ability to apply them.
You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment.
