We are looking for a friendly, positive and active Support Worker to assist a young man in his own home and community.
The young man has left field vision deficit (he is partially sighted) and has hemiplegia, but lives an active and engaging lifestyle. He enjoys sports, bowling, boxing, walking and horse riding.We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive, cheerful and happy to support him to continue doing the activities he loves, become more independent and to be someone he can have a laugh with.
Hours:
Monday: 4 hours - flexible
Tuesday: 12:30pm 4:30pm
Sunday: 4 hours - flexible
About the Role:
This is a supportive and companionship-focused role with minimal care requirements. No personal care is required. The main aim is to assist the young man to remain independent and enjoy his hobbies and day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities may include:
* Supporting with community activities such as sports, bowling and horse riding
* Providing companionship and encouragement
* Assisting with everyday tasks such as baking and cooking
* Providing guidance and support when out and about
* Assist with building confidence using public transport
