You’ll be paid a salary of up to £47,000 per annum, you’ll also receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. What you’ll do on a typical day:
* Ensure all vehicles are maintained to legal and operational standards
* Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules
* Oversee defect reporting, rectification, and follow-up processes
* Liaise with internal workshops and external maintenance providers
* Conduct technical assessments and inspections of fleet vehicles
* Support procurement and specification of new vehicles and equipment
What you need to succeed at GXO:
* Proven experience in fleet engineering or vehicle compliance management
* Strong mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles (HGVs, LGVs)
* Relevant engineering or transport qualifications IRTEC, CPC, Transport Manager CPC)
* Familiarity with compliance systems and matrix management tools Tachograph analysis, driver CPC tracking, vehicle defect reporting)
* Excellent understanding of UK transport legislation and vehicle safety standards
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
