Job Description
Accounts Assistant - Global Financial Institution, City of London
3. Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
4. Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
5. Reconcile accounts and investigate any discrepancies promptly.
6. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
7. Collaborate with the Accounting & Finance team to improve financial processes.
8. Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation.
9. Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring effective financial planning.
10. Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and reporting as required.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Accounts Assistant should have:
11. Minimum 3 years' experience in a UK-based Financial Institution, preferably within financial services.
12. Part-qualified in accounting or finance (e.g., ACCA, CIMA), working towards full qualification.
13. Proficient in Sage and Microsoft Excel, with excellent overall IT skills.
14. Strong Accounts Payable (AP) background with experience managing high volumes of invoices and expenses.
15. Good knowledge of reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and VAT principles.
