Job Description
* Ensure adherence to the company's vision, values, policies, and procedures at all times.
* Deputise for the Logistics Manager in their absence.
* Ensure vehicle and driver compliance with Operator licence, site, EU, and other legal requirements; monitor and improve the working environment.
* Conduct risk assessments on customer premises for major changes or new business, as advised by the relevant customer account team.
* Respond promptly to requests from other departments and drivers with efficient and reasonable solutions.
* Maintain stock levels necessary for business continuity (e.g., daily driver defect book, tacho rolls, windscreen cleaner, and uniforms).
* Ensure drivers deliver customer service levels that meet agreed standards for optimal service.
* Monitor vehicle maintenance plans and ensure all documentation complies with health and safety regulations.
* Achieve route optimisation savings and maintain profitability, minimizing the use of agency drivers.
* Investigate and resolve logistics problems using current systems (e.g., FTA Vision, TMS2 data, Telematics) to eliminate inefficiencies and improve working practices.
* Lead and develop personnel, managing absence, disciplinary actions, PDRs, infringements, grievances, health and safety training, and driver assessments, using SMART objectives.
* Develop and monitor budgets in collaboration with the Logistics Manager, investigating variances.
* Contribute to environmental impact reduction through route efficiency and economy.
* Ensure driver compliance with EN14065 standards, such as daily vehicle disinfection.
* Meet Service Agent KPIs related to service quality, loss reduction, and new business growth.
