Building Services Engineer

Salary - £43,151- £46,387
Plus, Recruitment and Retention Allowance £2,500 per annum.
This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week, open to flexible, compressed, and part-time working patterns with a minimum coverage of 30 hours Monday to Friday. You will be part of an on-call rota typically for a week every six weeks, for which you will receive an on-call allowance.
Do you want to work on an estate with incredible technical facilities where you can make a difference supporting security? You’ll use your knowledge and experience of building services to maintain and enhance an expanding estate with unique facilities, services, and utilities across multiple buildings. The campus includes manufacturing workshops, engineering laboratories, screened rooms, clean rooms, server rooms, and offices. The buildings vary from newly constructed to around 50 years old, with differing infrastructures.
You’ll work in a fast-paced environment where most days are different and will interact with a wide range of users and suppliers. Your planning and delivery skills will be essential for projects, from delivering complex new facilities to statutory compliance work.
You’ll project manage multiple system replacements and coordinate reactive repair work. Good analytical and problem-solving skills are needed to diagnose and fix building system issues. You will join a supportive team where professional development and training are encouraged, including externally recognized CIBSE courses and in-house sessions.

* A solid understanding of building engineering and technology such as HVAC, electrical systems, and plumbing.
* Knowledge of building regulations, safety standards, and sustainable technologies.
* Ability to manage your own time and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Beneficial but not essential skills include:
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with ISO standards such as ISO 50001, ISO 14001.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD software.

Using Your Skills
Within the estates team, you will:
* Ensure the site is safe and compliant.
* Lead specific projects, managing equipment replacements and enhancements from request to completion.
* Respond to system and infrastructure failures to minimize impact.
* Interrogate Building Management System to identify faults or develop improvements.
* Respond to user requests for repairs, maintenance, and infrastructure upgrades.
