Our client is a multi-disciplinary project management consultancy firm, looking for a Design Manager who can engage with their multi-disciplinary design teams to shape how design management is carried out on their projects. If you have experience of running complex projects as a Lead Consultant, or Project Architect this could be a good step-up for your career. What you need to do to be effective in this role? • Apply professional Design Management across various new build construction projects such as life science, data centres. • Show ambition and a willingness to work flexibly, both in our regional offices and on-site. • Develop personal growth opportunities for the team. • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards and recommending system improvements. • A good understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work and experience through pre- and post-contract stages. What are the day to day role duties? • Defining design programmes, design deliverables and communications across multiple complex projects. • Supporting the Lead Consultant in project administration and reporting. • Leading design team meetings with internal and external consultants. • Supporting Client technical approval processes and internal quality assurance. • Leading the Design team to ensure projects are set up for success. The skills and experience you need to have for this role • Managing design teams and projects as Lead Consultant. • Relevant design industry experience, with a background on large complex projects, such as Architecture or Engineering, ideally with chartered status. • Be proficient in the use of digital tools to manage the design process such as MS Excel, MS Project, and document management platforms. • Experience of defining BIM deliverables and design programming is advantageous. Personal Attributes • Be a pro-active leader of teams with excellent attention to detail. • Be able to work autonomously on projects and have confidence in managing large design teams. • Adaptable to work on a range of project sectors and scales.
