About the role:


The Service Manager will support the ongoing development of the service and therapeutic model and they will play a key role in disseminating expert knowledge related to Eating Disorder recovery and efficacious methods of service delivery in Orri and beyond. The Service Manager provides direction, support, training and development to the team, and provides a containing and supporting presence for the client group. Alongside managerial responsibilities, the Service Manager carries a small caseload to provide individual, family and group therapy/support. The Service Manager role is dynamic position within the team requiring flexibility, an ability to multitask, and requires a leader with a strong, inclusive leadership style, energy and a passion to reshape the eating disorder treatment landscape.


Main duties and responsibilities:


On a day-to-day basis the Service Manager provides real time support for the full clinical team across both programmes as well as providing support to the clients and their families through the effective delivery of the therapeutic programme.


The role also requires the Service Manager to act as a conduit for two-way communication and influence between the clinical team and senior leaders about key service issues and priorities. This will involve presenting at Clinical Governance, Operational Governance (when requested), attending SLT meeting and Board reporting.


Support with parent/carer liaison and oversight of case management provision for the service.


The Service Manager works closely with the Admissions Manager to ensure that all aspects of the admissions (pre, intake active and discharge) are met with responsive, effective, caring and safe processes and promotes Orri’s values an commitment to recovery throughout.


The Service Manager works closely with the Clinical Manager and Care, Quality and Compliance Manager to ensure the service maintains its high levels of clinical documentation, auditing and regulatory compliance, and works alongside the team the team to ensure that best practices are followed, both for clinical treatment and management, in accordance with Orri’s policies and Regulatory requirements.


The Service Manager works closely with the Service Director to ensure a robust and responsive Training programme operates that meets the needs of the team. Training takes the form of both more formal training needs being identified and met by the Modular and statutory training, as well as providing responsive training to members of the MDT through advice, consultation and small group sessions.


Desired Skills and Expertise:


* The Service Manager is an accredited clinician (Psychotherapist, Psychologist, OT, Nurse, etc.) with experience of working in an Eating Disorder (preferred) or Psychiatric setting.
* Extensive experience working with eating disorders across different levels of care.
* Proven clinical and leadership skills, with the ability to guide, support, and inspire a multidisciplinary team.
* Skilled in clinical risk assessment, safeguarding, and crisis management.
* Experience in service development, audit, and quality improvement processes.
