Position: Family Law Solicitor

About the Opportunity
An established and reputable regional law firm is seeking a skilled Family Law Solicitor (minimum 2 years’ PQE) to join its busy Solihull (Shirley) office.
This position arises due to the forthcoming retirement of a long-serving and highly respected practitioner. The successful candidate will inherit a well-maintained caseload and benefit from a strong pipeline of ongoing instructions, together with a loyal and longstanding client base. The role presents an excellent platform for a motivated solicitor to further develop their practice within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a broad range of privately funded family law matters, including:
* Divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships
* Financial remedy and asset division
* Private children disputes
* Cohabitation and TOLATA claims
* Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
* Domestic abuse and injunction applications
The successful applicant will be confident handling files from initial consultation through to conclusion, including conducting advocacy where required.
Core Responsibilities
* Running a varied caseload of private family matters with minimal supervision
* Delivering clear, pragmatic advice and maintaining high standards of client care
* Building and maintaining relationships with clients and professional referrers
* Managing matters proactively to ensure efficient progression and positive outcomes
* Providing guidance and supervision to junior colleagues where appropriate
* Supporting marketing and business development initiatives within the department
Candidate Profile
* Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in family law
* Strong technical knowledge across all areas of private family work
* Proven ability to manage a full caseload independently
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Commercially aware with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
* Well organised with strong IT proficiency
* Membership of Resolution (desirable but not essential)
