A brilliant opportunity for an experienced Finance & Accounts professional to join a rapidly scaling technology company that is tackling complex, real-world challenges. Having doubled in size over the past year, this organisation is continuing its exciting growth journey and is now looking for a proactive individual to support its Finance function. You’ll be joining a close-knit team where your work will directly support the day-to-day running of the business and its continued expansion. Location: Saffron Walden, Essex – hybrid (4 days on-site per week) Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum pension 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) Requirements for Accounts Assistant Strong experience managing ledgers and preparing accounts to trial balance Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-tech environment Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience (please note no study package is available) Confident user of Microsoft Excel Experience preparing payroll Proactive, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail Desirable: familiarity with Sage, experience working in smaller/growth-stage businesses, exposure to international accounting Due to the nature of the industry, you must be in a position to qualify for UK security clearance (this usually means you have been a UK resident for 5 years, have a clean criminal record etc) Responsibilities for Accounts Assistant Oversee month-end close processes including prepayment, accrual, stock/WIP journals, and fixed asset register upkeep Process bank postings, allocate payments, and complete balance sheet reconciliations Provide commentary for variance analysis and prepare monthly spend reports Manage accounts payable including purchase orders, invoice processing, expenses, credit cards, and supplier setup Support preparation of VAT returns, budgets, and forecasts Assist with payroll processing and audit requirements Contribute to ad hoc finance projects including R&D tax credit calculations and process improvements What this role offers: Join a growing technology company with real-world impact Broad, hands-on finance role with exposure to all areas of the business Supportive team culture in a dynamic, high-growth environment Applications If you would like to apply for this exciting Finance role, please send your CV via the relevant links.
