Working as a Management Accountant, you will support the Senior Management Accountant with the timely and accurate preparation of the Head Office management accounts for Group 1 Automotive, owning specific Balance Sheet and Income Statement lines.

What you'll do day to day
* Prepare segments of the monthly management accounts for Head Office, ensuring compliance and accuracy, and present results to senior management.
* Complete monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, highlighting risks and opportunities.
* Manage purchase and sales ledgers, monitoring debts and liabilities, and coordinate with stakeholders for timely invoice settlements.
* Support finance transformation projects, including system refinements and migrations.
* Assist in preparing the annual Budget and re-forecasts.
* Liaise with auditors and respond to queries professionally.
* Maintain strong relationships across the business for effective communication and account accuracy.
* Drive continuous improvement in accounting activities and controls, meeting deadlines.
* Ensure compliance with auditing standards and policies, including Sarbanes Oxley.
* Manage one direct report.
Helpful skills and qualifications
* Post-qualification experience in industry, managing management accounts and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Confidence to present and interpret results to senior management.
* Knowledge of accounting standards like FRS 101, FRS 102, US GAAP.
* Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
* Ability to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
* Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organizational and attention to detail.
