Exciting Opportunity for an Consultant Anesthetist!
DMC Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exemplary patient care and innovative medical solutions, is seeking an experienced Consultant Anesthetist to join us on a contractor basis. You’ll provide your expertise within a Surgical ENT service to NHS patients in the Yeovil area (Somerset).

Key Procedures Include (but not limited to):
Pre-operative Assessment -
* Conduct detailed pre-operative anaesthetic assessments for elective ENT patients (day case surgery).
Intra-operative Responsibilities -
* Provide safe and effective anaesthesia for a wide range of ENT procedures, including:
* Tonsillectomy / adenoidectomy
* Micro-laryngoscopy and bronchoscopy
* Thyroid and parathyroid surgery
* Endoscopic sinus surgery
* Septoplasty
* Inferior turbinate surgery
* Septorhinoplasty
Post-operative Care -
* Ensure safe emergence and airway protection post-op, particularly in:
* Airway oedema
* Bleeding risks (e.g. post-tonsillectomy)
* Patients with obstructive sleep apnoea
* Provide input into pain management strategies, including:
* Opioid-sparing analgesia
* Regional techniques (e.g. superficial cervical plexus block for thyroid surgery)
* Respond to post-op complications (e.g. airway compromise, bleeding, nausea)
