Overview
Senior Research Technician position (110856-0925). Fixed-term, full-time role in the School of Life Sciences, University of Warwick, based at Gibbet Hill. 13-month contract, 1.0 FTE (36.5 hours per week). Funding to recruit up to 31/05/2027.
The project, funded by Race Against Dementia, aims to determine the molecular mechanisms underlying tau-induced neuronal and network dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases. The successful candidate will use molecular biology and imaging-based techniques to characterise interactions between tau protein and targets such as voltage-gated ion channels, with potential opportunities to develop skills in electrophysiology and in vivo work.
Responsibilities
* Utilise a combination of molecular biology and imaging-based techniques to study tau-related molecular mechanisms and interactions with targets such as voltage-gated ion channels.
* Participate actively in a growing neuroscience research group; manage time and projects effectively; communicate clearly; work independently and as part of a team.
* Contribute to laboratory activities, training, and dissemination as part of the Lab of Dr Emily Lane-Hill within the Neuroscience Cluster.
About You / Qualifications
* BSc in Neuroscience, Biomedical Science, or another relevant field.
* Practical laboratory experience with molecular biology and an interest in neurodegeneration research.
* Good time and project management, and strong communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
