Information Governance Officer We are recruiting an experienced Information Governance Officer to support a Local Authority's Information Governance function within the Law and Governance service, reporting to the Data Protection Officer. The role can be fully remote, however you must be able to collect your equipment on your first day from Bournemouth. The Role Manage and respond to complex Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. Deputise for the Head of Information Governance on FOI, EIR, and data protection matters. Provide advice on exemptions, internal reviews, and ICO correspondence. Support information security, records management, and transparency obligations. Deliver information governance training and awareness. Maintain performance data, statutory registers, and support the Information Governance Board. Essential Experience Proven experience in an Information Governance role, ideally within a Local Authority. Strong working knowledge of: UK GDPR (Article 15) Data Protection Act 2018 Freedom of Information Act 2000 Environmental Information Regulations 2004 Ability to work independently and manage complex cases. Desirable ISEB (or equivalent) qualification in DPA and/or FOI. Experience publishing content to websites or intranets. Additional Information Opportunity to work from home or in the office; however, office attendance in Bournemouth is required on the first day to collect equipment.
