About the Role
A welcoming specialist school in Shaftesbury is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties and behavioural challenges.
The setting focuses on creating a safe, structured and engaging environment where pupils can build confidence, develop independence and achieve meaningful progress.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
* Assist with classroom activities, routines and transitions throughout the day
* Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
* Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
* Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupil progress
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people (SEN desirable)
* Patient, calm and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to learn and develop within a specialist setting
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

An Enhanced DBS is required (Update Service) or willingness to apply (£49.50 via the government DBS service).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
