SEND Support Assistant
Location: Peterlee
Working hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract type: Long term, temporary
Leader Education are recruiting a caring SEND Support Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school supporting pupils aged 2–19. This is a rewarding role within an inclusive environment where students are supported to build confidence, independence, and achieve their goals.
You will work with children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and participate fully in school life.
Previous experience in a SEND or similar setting is desirable, along with the ability to adapt support to individual needs.
Working closely with staff and families, you will help provide consistent support, so strong communication, patience, and a team-focused approach are essential. A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing is also required.
